So, you like to read and you enjoy talking about the books your reading? Join the coolBLUE book group! This month's book is Americanah, by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, this year's Penn State Reads book. The book tells the story of a young Nigerian woman who emigrates to America for a university education. The group will meets over the lunch hour for lively book discussions and friendship. Penn State Laureate to Speak at Outreach Toastmasters.
The 2013-14 Penn State Laureate, Ken Womack, will be speaking at the November 19th meeting of the Outreach Toastmasters. Dr. Womack will speak about the importance of public speaking - whether formal or informal - while sharing his experiences along the path to being named Penn State Laureate. Everyone is welcome to join the Toastmasters for this special meeting event, November 19th from noon to 1pm in room 121 of the Outreach Building.
Monthly: Be our guest at a meeting and begin to learn to not sweat those anxiety-inducing moments in life that we all encounter. Time to donate blood! Join us as we help to save the lives of our M.V.P.s, just like blood recipient and ALL patient, Drue Storm. The American Red Cross Blood Drive at Innovation Park Technology Center will be held on Tuesday, October 21st at 9:00 am to 2:30 pm in room 243. Donate blood at this drive and enter to win a PSU Football home game package for the 2014 Northwestern, Ohio State, Maryland & Michigan State games!
The annual Daybridge Daycare Halloween Parade will take place in the Penn Stater Courtyard on Thursday, October 30th at 10:00 am. Please come and support our youngest tenants of the park as they parade in costume for us. Feel free to bring treats for the kids too! Ike from the State College Spikes will also be joining us for this wonderful event. Don't miss the fun, mark your calendars today!
Planning for the 2014 coolBLUE Food Drive is soon to begin. We have invited individuals from each building in Innovation Park to serve as representatives to spread the word, coordinate collections and delivery of food and needed items for our local food banks.
